Young ballers celebrate anti-gang initiative!

Young ballers from all over Milton Keynes turned up for our fantastic 3x3 basketball tournament held at The Bletchley Leisure on 20th December.  The event, run in partnership with MK Basketball, was held in recognition of 5 On It's anti-gang initiative Gang Today Gone Tomorrow which uses basketball and mentoring to inspire, educate and push young people away from gangs.   Throughout the day nearly 100 boys and girls, all wearing Gang Today Gone Tomorrow t-shirts to promote the anti-gang message, battled on court and were given free pizza, courtesy of Dominos, whilst winners from each age group were presented with medals by Michaela Clark and Peter Bakare from The Milton Keynes Community Foundation who were one of the key funders of the tournament.  The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr…

5 On It Foundation are proud to be supporting the government’s HAF scheme, in partnership with Nutri Troops and Milton Keynes Council, to provide activities and food to families with children in receipt of benefit-related Free School Meals (FSM), during the Christmas school holidays. Nutri Troops creator Peter Bakare will be joined by fantastic sports coaches from Premiere Education for 2 days of FREE Nutri Troops Olympic themed games with real life and interactive healthy lifestyle activities for children aged 6-11 years old during the Christmas period. We are delighted to announce the launch of the 5 On It bursary scheme to provide a pathway for children and young people who take part in our sports and arts programmes, so they can continue their passion if they aren’t otherwise able to do so. We have had a great week of basketball and we thank you for supporting our half term programme run in partnership with MK Basketball! Unfortunately we have had to postpone tomorrow's 3x3 tournament at Sports Central, it will now take place at an indoor venue on Monday 20th December - more details to be announced soon! We have a big finish today with Nigel Lloyd at the Lakes Estate Outdoor court, MK2 3QF 4 - 6pm where there will be energising basketball drills and prizes to be won - we are now fully booked but look forward to seeing all those who have reserved a space! East London Community Foundation support Gang Today Gone Tomorrow

5 On It are delighted to announce they have been awarded funding from the East London Community Foundation (using its Made by Sport funding pot) to support our Gang Today Gone Tomorrow anti-gang project. Following a rise in gang life in key towns and cities across the UK, 5 On It have created a unique programme which uses mentoring and basketball coaching to inspire, educate and push young people away from gangs.  Girls as well as boys can be exposed to violence and coercion due to gang association. Supporting Children Heard and Seen

The 5 On It Foundation are proud to support the amazing charity Children Heard and Seen yesterday by funding a sports day with our friends at Premier Education - Milton Keynes. Using a variety of equipment Premier Education ran a fantastic mini sports day for all those who attended. The weather stayed dry too, just! A big thank you to all our Localgiving donors for helping us to make this happen. Children Heard and Seen supports children and young people and their families who are supported by parental imprisonment. It is estimated that 312,000 children each year have a parent in prison, and these children need help and support from their communities.

5 ON IT FOUNDATION ARE EXCITED TO PARTNER WITH MK BASKETBALL!

5 On It Foundation are delighted to announce a new partnership with Milton Keynes Basketball Club, who coach over 500 boys and girls from 4-18 years old. This new collaboration will give young people across the region, increased access to basketball and provide pathways to those who show talent and drive, regardless of their background. Both organisations will work together to build bursaries and scholarship opportunities for individuals using fund raising techniques and inviting sponsorship from local businesses. This summer, 5 On It Foundation, are delivering free coaching in Heelands, for children with London Lions Legend, Nigel Lloyd, as well as a Basketball 3 On 3 coaching programme in Eaglestone with a positive anti-gang message for teenagers in the City. 11,000 children in Milton Keynes are living in poverty and…
