5 On It Foundation are over the moon to have been recognized by the Milton Keynes Black Excellent Awards 2024, which took place at Delta Marriot Hotel on Saturday 13th January, as the ‘Organisation which seeks to engage The Black Community the Most’.  The award was presented by actor and presenter Richard Blackwood to local Team GB Olympian Peter Bakare and International basketball player Jordan Spencer, who are     ambassadors for the local MK charity.  Known for delivering a range of sports and creative arts programmes, 5 On It tailor their activities to encourage and value cultural diversity amongst young people and allow them to step out of their comfort zones, learning long lasting life skills. We are over the moon to have been awarded another £1500 by Turners Court Youth Trust which gives grants to charities which aim to help young people fulfil their full potential by providing high quality early intervention programmes. This funding will help us provide more mentoring to those at risk of being attracted to gangs.

If you’re aged between 12 and 16 years and receive free school meals why not hang out with 5 On It this winter and try a range of activities for free! This programme is funded by the Government’s HAF scheme which provides free activities to children and teenagers who are in receipt of free school meals, we also have secured additional funding to provide another 20 free places to all 12-16 year olds – see booking link below. 5 On It were honoured and thrilled that the Milton Keynes Food and Leisure Awards (https://www.mkfla.com/), which took place earlier this month, selected us as their Official 2023 Charity to support on the night of the Awards! A huge number of local organisations (listed below) donated prizes to the raffle and auction and we thank them all so much - an amazing total of £2500 was raised! This wonderful opportunity not only helped raise awareness of our work with children who live in poverty but more crucially helped us raise funds to provide more free Nutri Troops holiday camps! Dear Parent, Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are having to postpone the last basketball session at Eaglestone this coming Thursday 12th October. 5 On it were over the moon to receive last minute funding from the National Lottery to enable them to lay on additional activities for young people during the summer break. Their generous support allowed 5 on it to run additional basketball coaching sessions across Milton Keynes and run a basketball tournament and football tournament in areas such as Eaglestone and Leadenhall. The summer break has been a blast - a huge thank you to all those who came to our programmes, we can't wait to see you all again soon!

5 On It were thrilled to welcome BBC Look East to their Hang Out programme during the summer holidays. The local news channel were interested to find out more about our unique activity for teenagers which offered a range of physical activities, such as football and basketball, as well as technology programmes including social media and DJ workshops. We are excited to announce the National Lottery have awarded funding to 5 On It to run extra free sport events during the summer holidays for teenagers. Consequently we will be organising a free 5 aside football tournament for 12 years and over as part of our Gang Today Gone Tomorrow anti-gang initiative that uses sport to encourage safety at street level.
