We had the most successful Hang Out programme during the summer months owing to the fantastic funding from the Postcode Lottery Trust which is only possible due to all those who purchase Postcode Lottery tickets throughout the year - thank you so much!
Wow what a summer and we couldn't have done our teenage multi sport programme for teenagers without the support of Sport England who funded the initiative. We want to take this opportunity to say thank you - we reached over 200 young people across Milton Keynes and had fantastic feedback from the participants!
THE FIRST NUTRI TROOPS GOLDEN GAMES IN MILTON KEYNES IS A GOLDEN SUCCESS! This summer Nutri Troops Golden Games has helped over 3,600 primary aged children in Milton Keynes to keep active, learn about the importance of diet and exercise whilst taking part in fun team challenges at free camps in primary schools, holiday clubs and domestic abuse refuges. This amazing programme has been made possible thanks to support from Places Leisure, John Lewis, Allica Bank, Milton Keynes Council, Brioche Pasquier,Pink Balloon, Milton Keynes Christian Centre and Morrisons. Over 200 teenagers from all corners of Milton Keynes aged 12 - 16yrs attended 5 On It Foundation’s free ‘Hang Out Games’ Camps this summer at St Paul’s Catholic School run by the charity. The programme has been supported by Milton Keynes Council, Sport England, Postcode Trust and Milton Keynes Christian Centre. Participants played in exhilarating finals events across three key sports - basketball, football and netball - it was tense and exciting to the end! Deputy Mayor Councilor John Lancaster attended the Games and enjoyed a delicious lunch of curry and jollof rice with the 5 On It team and gave some words of motivation to the young athletes before their finals! 5 On It are thrilled to have been awarded funding by Milton Keynes Council to run a range of Holiday Activities and Food Programmes (Government HAF) during the summer holidays. These programmes are for school aged children from reception to year 11 (inclusive) who receive benefits-related free school meals. Click on the links below to find out more about each one! The Paris Olympics 2024 are just around the corner and Peter Bakare, local 2012 Volleyball Olympian as well as Nutri Troops creator and 5 On It Foundation have partnered together to bring a Mini Golden Olympics Games to Milton Keynes for children aged 5 – 11 years – it’s a chance to feel like an Olympian and go for gold and you can sign your children up for it now! 5 On It Foundation are over the moon to have been recognized by the Milton Keynes Black Excellent Awards 2024, which took place at Delta Marriot Hotel on Saturday 13th January, as the ‘Organisation which seeks to engage The Black Community the Most’. The award was presented by actor and presenter Richard Blackwood to local Team GB Olympian Peter Bakare and International basketball player Jordan Spencer, who are ambassadors for the local MK charity. Known for delivering a range of sports and creative arts programmes, 5 On It tailor their activities to encourage and value cultural diversity amongst young people and allow them to step out of their comfort zones, learning long lasting life skills. We are over the moon to have been awarded another £1500 by Turners Court Youth Trust which gives grants to charities which aim to help young people fulfil their full potential by providing high quality early intervention programmes. This funding will help us provide more mentoring to those at risk of being attracted to gangs.
