5 ON IT Foundation has been awarded grant funding from Milton Keynes City Council to deliver sessions for the Summer Holiday Activities and Food Programme, for children in receipt of benefit-related Free School Meals (FSM).

Weโ€™re excited to welcome back Peter Bakare with another Nutri Troops Animation Workshop, specially tailored for SEN students aged 12 to 16.

The first three days will take place at Willows School in Fishermead, Milton Keynes (MK6 2LP) and has been carefully designed to engage and support young people with special educational needs.

  • Led by a specialist SEN teacher, the workshop will guide students through the creative process of developing their own animations and comic books, drawing inspiration from the colourful and imaginative world of Nutri Troops. Each session is thoughtfully structured to suit a variety of learning styles, with particular emphasis on visual learners who thrive through creative, hands-on activities like drawing and storytelling.
  • Adding an extra layer of inspiration, participants will have the chance to work directly with Peter Bakare, a 2012 GB Olympian and the creator of Nutri Troops. His presence brings energy, encouragement, and real-life experience, helping students build confidence, express themselves creatively, and enjoy the power of teamwork.

**** To celebrate their achievements, on the final day โ€” Thursday, 31st July โ€” weโ€™ll take the group on a fun outing to Nandoโ€™s at the Escape, followed by a cinema trip to watch a suitable animated film, rounding off the experience with a well-earned treat and shared memories ****
