Peter Bakare, born on July 2, 1989, in London, England, is a British volleyball player who represented Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Initially a basketball player, Bakare transitioned to volleyball in 2010 upon his coach’s recommendation. He made his international debut that same year against Denmark and later played professionally for Landstede Volleybal in the Netherlands. Off the court, Bakare pursued a degree in animation at Sheffield Hallam University, which led him to scriptwriting opportunities, including work on the Channel 4 drama “Skins.” He has also ventured into stand-up comedy and acting.
After the Olympics, Bakare founded Nutri Troops, an interactive program designed to educate primary school children about healthy living through Olympic-inspired mascots and games. He remains active in promoting sports and health education, serving as a motivational speaker and creative tutor.
Bakare’s journey from East London to the Olympic stage exemplifies his dedication to both athletic and creative pursuits, making him a multifaceted role model for young people.
