5 On it were over the moon to receive last minute funding from the National Lottery to enable them to lay on additional activities for young people during the summer break. Their generous support allowed 5 on it to run additional basketball coaching sessions across Milton Keynes and run a basketball tournament and football tournament in areas such as Eaglestone and Leadenhall. The summer break has been a blast - a huge thank you to all those who came to our programmes, we can't wait to see you all again soon!

The local news channel were interested to find out more about our unique activity for teenagers which offered a range of physical activities, such as football and basketball, as well as technology programmes including social media and DJ workshops. Consequently we will be organising a free 5 aside football tournament for 12 years and over as part of our Gang Today Gone Tomorrow anti-gang initiative that uses sport to encourage safety at street level. This month there have been 3 violent stabbings of three young men in Milton Keynes, leaving one victim hospitalised which is a stark reminder of the need for lifesaving knife and gang crime education for our children and young people. Local charity, 5 On It Foundation, were thrilled to welcome special guest Matthew Barber, Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner, to their latest anti-gang basketball event this month. Matthew and TVP funded one of 5 On It’s Gang Today Gone tomorrow programmes last summer.
